Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area came under significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were injured.

The strikes succeed periods of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
