Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
