Authorities mentioned they were notified by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they added.

City officials said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
